Rustic Italian heat meets buttery comfort — bold, rich, and unapologetically hearty. This upgraded comfort dish features De Luca's Pork & Fennel Sausages seared golden and simmered in a smoky-sweet tomato and Calabrese Chilli Pepper gravy, served over creamy mashed potatoes whipped with butter and cream.

Directions

1. 1Place potatoes in a large pot, cover with cold salted water, and bring to a boil.
2. 2Cook until fork-tender, about 15–18 minutes. Drain and return to pot.
3. 3Add butter and warm milk. Mash until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and white pepper to taste. Cover to keep warm.
4. 4While potatoes cook, heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
5. 5Add sausages and sear until browned on all sides, about 6–8 minutes. Remove and set aside.
6. 6In the same pan, sauté onions for 4–5 minutes until soft. Add garlic and Calabrese chilli peppers, and cook another minute.
7. 7Stir in tomato paste, smoked paprika, and oregano. Let toast for 30 seconds.
8. 8Add Worcestershire sauce, sugar, tomatoes, and broth. Stir well and bring to a simmer.
9. 9Return sausages to the pan, reduce heat to low, and cover. Simmer for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until sauce thickens and sausages are cooked through.
10. 10Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.
11. 11Spoon a generous scoop of mashed potatoes onto each plate.
12. 12Top with sausages and spoon the spicy tomato gravy over top.
13. 13Serve with lemon wedges or crusty bread, if desired.
14. 14Top with Nutri Green microgreens of your choice!
